Can A Former Physician Make Money Online? My Venture Into Entrepreneurship

Introduction

Have you lost your job, or are you looking for a job change, or a side hustle? I may be of some help! Hello and welcome to my blog. My name is Michael Roselman. I am a former cardiologist, now transforming myself into an online entrepreneur. One compelling thing that prompted this somewhat radical change was losing my job in this coronavirus pandemic. For the first 10 years of my cardiology practice, I was self-employed, a member of independent cardiology group practices. However, 26 years ago, a large healthcare system bought out our practice, and my partners and I became employees of this system. Although there were some nice benefits to working under the protective umbrella of a large healthcare system, the bottom line, as I found out, was that as an employee I could be terminated at the whim of my employer, without apparent cause. As you might imagine, this made me feel very vulnerable, and definitely not in charge of my own destiny as I thought.

Enrolling in Training to Learn How To Make Money Online

Burned out on medical practice, but not quite ready to retire, and definitely not willing to play the victim, I began to search for alternate job opportunities, especially one that might allow me to work from home. In my search, I came across an organization called Entre Institute, and taking a chance, I enrolled in their introductory Entre Blueprint course. The mission of Entre is to empower individuals to take control of the professional, personal and physical aspects of their lives, and they start by teaching several online business models that have been time-tested to allow people to achieve success in the digital world.

At the end of the training, trainees enter an Implementation Bootcamp to help them develop the proper motivation and mindset to succeed at the business model they elect to focus on. It was during this section that the CEO Jeff Lerner clarified the difference between an employee and an entrepreneur mindset that he adapted from a section of the book Secrets of The Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker. This resonated with me, cementing my resolve to never return to a job as an employee, but instead to write a new chapter in my life and undertake becoming an entrepreneur. I would like to go over a few of those points here:

Contrasting Entrepreneurs And Employees

  • Entrepreneurs spend money to earn time, while employees spend time to earn money.
  • Entrepreneurs pursue opportunities, employees avoid obstacles.
  • Entrepreneurs grow the pie, while employees compete for a slice.
  • Entrepreneurs view challenges as essential to growth, but employees view problems as detrimental to growth.
  • Entrepreneurs are willing to promote themselves, while employees think negatively about this.
  • Entrepreneurs get paid for results, whereas employees get paid for time.
  • Entrepreneurs focus on creating value, but employees focus on getting money.
  • Entrepreneurs create jobs, employees fill job openings.
  • Entrepreneurs benefit when other entrepreneurs excel, while employees benefit when others fail.
  • Entrepreneurs think differently to get rich, but employees hope to get rich so that they can think differently.
  • And finally, entrepreneurs take on risk and become accountable to it, while employees stay in their so-called comfort zone.

Entre Institute

Entre is a high-quality educational program, with essential mentoring of its students at every step of the process. If you are interested in finding out more about this program designed to help you earn money online, please click any one of several links on this blog site, or send me a comment and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have about this.

I’m new at the entrepreneur business, but I would like to invite you along on my journey as I take on this venture. Because regular reading is an essential element of becoming a success in any endeavor, I plan future blogs to summarize and review important books to prime one’s mindset for motivation, mental toughness, productivity, goal achievement and the like. I cannot promise you that along the way I will not make mistakes, but I look forward to the learning experience with you.
